Registration Policies for Authors
To be published in the IEEE SMARTCOMP 2017 Conference Proceedings and to be eligible for publication in IEEE Xplore®, an author of an accepted (regular, WIP/demo, PhD forum, or workshop) paper is required to register for the conference at the full rate (F1 or F2), i.e. each accepted paper must have one of the authors registered at the full rate (F1 or F2). The accepted paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the conference unless the TPC Chair grants permission for a substitute presenter arranged in advance of the event who is qualified both to present and answer questions. One full registration is valid for one accepted paper. Accepted and presented papers will be submitted to IEEE Xplore®. Registration categories S1 or S2 cannot be used to cover any paper publication.
Authors must register by 28 April 2017.
Policies on No-shows and Substitute Presenters
Each paper must be presented by an author of the paper in person at the conference. Presentations via teleconference (e.g., Skype) or pre-recorded tape are not permitted. Permission to have the paper presented by a substitute presenter may be granted by the TPC Chairs under certain extraordinary circumstances. Authors with travel contingencies should consider arranging a substitute presenter. A substitute presenter must be qualified to answer questions regarding the paper.
A paper not presented or presented by a non-author without prior written approval by the TPC Chairs will be removed from the final conference proceedings before uploading to IEEE Xplore®. No refund will be made to authors of these papers.
Refund/Cancelation Policies
All refund/cancellation requests must be received by 28 April 2017. There will be an administrative fee of HK$800 deducted from each refund/cancelation. There are absolutely no refunds for authors with registered papers or those who have requested and have received a visa/invitation letter. No refund will be given for any paid registration after 28 April 2017.
